Engineered for the alpine and forested terrain of Central Europe, its five-colour painterly dot pattern disrupted the human silhouette with an almost impressionistic quality unlike any other Cold War camouflage design. Austrian military snipers kept using it informally long after the Bundesheer officially retired it in 1978. Today it remains one of the rarest and most visually distinctive patterns of the era — recognised by collectors and largely unknown to everyone else. Read the full history →
